DANISH GYMNASTIC TEAM
POSSIBLE TOUR OF N.Z. (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 3. A team of Danish gymnasts may tour New Zealand on their way to Japan. This week Mr D. Andersen, of Odense, Denmark, has been trying to interest Government and local physical training officers in arranging tne tour. A physical instructor at Denmark’s famed Niels Bukhs School for Physical Education, Mr Andersen was a member of a Danish team which toured the United States and Mexico in 154950. Mr Andersen said in an interview in Wellington that the Japanese Government had invited the Danish team to tour Japan. All costs after the team’s arrival would be met by the Government. At present funds were being raised by the director of the Niels Bukhs School (Mr Erik Flen-sted-Jensen) to meet the cost of transport to and from Denmark. Mr Andersen, who plans to remain in New Zealand for at least two years —he has relatives here —is acting on behalf of the Danes in seeking a tour of the Dominion for the team.
