RESPONSIBILITIES DEFINED IN SERMON (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 5. “To say ‘I would commit fraud were it not for the law’ is a confession of immorality,” said the Rev. A. J. T. Fraser at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Dunedin, yesterday. “To say ‘I will not defraud the Income Tax Department because I am a Christian' is a definite Christian witness binding on all Christians “The observance of properlyconstituted law is a Christian duty,” he added. “There is, however, an exception to this principle. It is the Christian’s duty to defy a law, even unto open rebellion and even unto death, if a State passes and enforces a law manifestly and openly contrary to the laws of God.”
