N.Z. WATERSIDE UNIONS
ANNUAL CONFERENCE AT DUNEDIN (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 22. The first annual conference of the National Waterfront Association began a four-day session at Dunedin today. In accordance with the constitution of the national association, the election of officers involving the change of location of leadership from the North Island to the South Island, was held. Mr F. L. G. Morriss, of Dunedin, the retiring vice-president of the national association, was elected national president. This information was contained in a statement made to the press to-night The secretaryship also passed to the South Island. Mr W. J. Campbell being nominated to that position by the Dunedin union.
Mr N. Green, of Wellington, was elected vice-president. The following were elected from the delegates to become members of the national council:—Messrs W. Starues (Motueka), J. Trotter (Dunedin), G Roelants (Wellington), A. Field (Napier), C. Poki (Gisborne), C. Williams (Tauranga), W. McMullen (Auckland), and C. Plaisted (Whangarei)
