GLENELG HEALTH CAMP
VISIT BY MR MARSHALL Mr J. R. Marshall, Minister of Health, who has been spending three days in Christchurch, paid his first visit to the Glenelg children’s health camp late yesterday afternoon, when he was welcomed by members of the executive of the camp management committee, and the matron and submatron of the. camp (Mrs E. Morrison and Miss Boyd). Accompanied by Dr, C, A. Taylor, Director of the Division of Hospitals, Mr H. R. Lake, member of Parliament for Lyttelton, and the Minister’s private secretary (Mr T. Dew), Mr Marshall was shown over the building, the grounds, and the school and said he was deeply impressed by what he had seen. He was, he said, anxious to learn all he could about the health camp movement and he considered that Glenelg was unique, as it had the air of a home rather than of a capipHe was pleased to notice that it appeared to be well administered and well managed. He assured the committee of his personal interest in the camp and expressed gratitude to all who -helped in the health camp movement, including the loyal band of women who regularly sold health stamps in the vestibule of the Christchurch Post Office.
