LEVY BY BOARD NOT YET APPROVED ’ (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 21. The Nurses’ and Midwives’ Board has told nurses they will pay a fee of 5s for their annual practising certificate, but the Minister of Health (Mr J. R. Marshall) has not yet given his ap--1 proval. Mr Marshall said in Auckland to-day that his approval had been ! sought, but he had asked the board to | discuss the proposal first with the 1 Registered Nurses’ Association. • “We like to do these things with the ! co-operation of the people affected,” : said Mr Marshall. 1 The Auckland branch of the Regist- ■ ered Nurses’ Association says some : nurses have already paid the fee. Ac- • cording to the circular letter issued by ■ the board nurses were asked to send • in their application forms and pay the ' fee on or before March 1. The board is believed to want to recoup some of the cost involved in registering and . protecting the interests of New Zea- [ land’s several thousand practising i nurses.
