Advice has been received from London that Mr J. M. Ritchie, general manager for New Zealand of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of . New , Zealand, Ltd., has been appointed to a seat on the London Board of Ditectbrs.
Sergriaht Ogilvie Tocher, until recently Officer- in charge of the Balmoral Police Station, has retired. Sergeant Tocher, who at one stage in his career served on the West Coast, joined the Edinburgh police force in 1905, the South African force in 1911 and the New Zealand police in 1914. Mr B, G. HOod deputy city librarian, Wellington, has.been appointed library development officer to the City of Cape Town, South Africa.
