Lighting on Riccartonßoad.—The Waimairi County Council had a proposal for improved street lighting in Riccarton road from the Riccarton borough boundary to Church corner, said the chairman (Mr W, W. Laing) in answer to a question from Cr. A. C. Rhodes at a meeting of the council on Thursday evening. Pending the installation of modern lighting the Municipal Electricity Department will be asked to proceed with the fitting of normal 100 candle-poWer lamps. It is proposed to bring the matter up with the Riccarton Borough Council and decide the type of installation. The new lamps will be fitted when materials become available.
