FARM MACHINERY ENGINEERING
COURSE AT TECHNICAL COLLEGE SUGGESTED (From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, December 14. A proposal for a farm machinery engineering course at the Timaru Technical College was put forward at a meeting of the executive of South Canterbury Federated Farmers in Timaru this morning. Mr R. W. L. Beattie said that he had been approached by the implement firms asking him to make known their alarm at the lack of qualified farm machinery mechanics in South Canterbury. “I am sure that you will'get the support of the principal, Mr Hill, and the board.” said Mr P. R. Talbot, a member of the executive and a member of the Technical College Board of Governors. A committee was set up to investigate the matter and meet the principal.
