CALL FOR HOLY WAR
APPEAL OF MOSLEM LEADERS
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. 11, The Cairo radio last night broadcast a call from foreign Moslem leaders to the Sudanese people for a jihad (holy war) against the British “aggressors.” Haj Amin al Husseini, the former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Alai al Fassi, the Moroccan Istiqlal leader, Mustapha Sabri Effendi, formerly chief religious preacher of the Ottoman Empire, and other Moslem leaders signed the appeal. It said: “Good Moslems, do not be fooled by the British. Work with your Egyptian brethren to expel the enemy from your country. “Follow your Koran, which provides that each Moslem should defend any Moslem country repelling aggression. "Therefore a jihad, in this case, is demanded of every individual until the aggressor departs. Those guilty of co-operation with the British are non-Mcslems and should be treated as enemies.”
