NEW YORK DOCK STRIKE
COMMERCE CRIPPLED (Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW YORK. Oct. 22. The strike of longshoremen has crippled commerce In New York—the world’s busiest harbour. Eighty ships are strikebound at the wharves end another 12 are anchored in midstream. In Brooklyn, the only gang of longshoremen working clashed with a caravan of pickets. Two men were in* jured by flying rocks. The strike has also spread to Boston. The strikers—members of the International Longshoremen’s Associationare protesting against the terms of a new wage contract recently approved by a majority Of 05,000 members of the association in east coast ports.
