NATIONAL EVENT AT INVERCARGILL

Clark, an Ashburton grower, had entered a magnificent collection of pink daffodils. Mr Maunder said the class showed an improvement on the last show, and the winning blooms compared favourably with pink daffodils anywhere in the world. Mr S. G. Gaspar, of East Taieri, judge of the amateur classes, said that entries were fewer because of recent winds. The quality was good, and it was pleasing to see one of New Zealand's premier breeders of daffodils, P. D. L. Hudden, send his blooms from Gisborne.
