ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE

DIVISION FORMED AT HORORATA

A decision to form a division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade to cover the Selwyn, Malvern and Tawera counties, with headquarters at Hororata, was made at a special meeting held in the Hororata Hall. Dr. J. W. Avery, of Darfield, outlined the work done by the brigade and said there was definite need for a branch in,the district. The forms necessary for the forming of the division were signed by the following persons, who have already gained first-aid certificates during the time the group has been meeting at Hororata:—Mesdames A. W. Oakley, H. E. Hocking, D. E. E. Rowe, D. Lewington, Messrs B. W. Halliday, C. Stockdale. W. T. R. Rowe, P. Lewington R. R. Merriman, W. W. Burgess, W. G. Green. Juniors: Misses C. Eden, N. Oakley and S. C. Lucas. Mr W. Burgess was appointed superintendent of the division.
