TALMA II WINS ST. LEGER

(A’.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, September 15. Mr Marcel Boussac, Europe's leading racehorse owner, won the St. Leger for the second successive year with Talma 11. trained by C. H. Semblat in France. They won last year with Scratch 11. Talma II led the field from half way. Lord Milford’s Sybil’s Nephew, the favourite at 13-2, was not in the finish. Fraise du Bois, owned by the Begum Aga Khan, was second, and Medway, owned by Mr P. Bartholomew, was third. The race was worth £14,481 to the winner, £1715 to the second, and £857 to the third. Result ST. LEGER, One mile and three-quarters. TALMA II (Pharis-Thaouka) 9-0 W. R. Johnstone 1 Fraise du Bois .. .. C. Smirke 2 Medway .. .. .. d. Smith 3 13 T | n 5 lengths; four lengths.
