PARTY IN VENICE

Sir,—l was astounded to read of the expenditure of £106.000 for the party celebrations in Venice recently. What a wonderful world We all live in these days when we have leading personalities all over the world decrying the growth of Communism everywhere. In this land of ours we have appeals being.made to all classes to subscribe to UNESCO and such, but never again will I part with my meagre cash. It was gratifying to know that Mr Churchill’s patronaga was not overlooked by this great multi-millionaire socialist, and I hope that each guest present has new ideas now how to overcome the bogy of Cpmmunism. If this is the capitalistic way of Christian life with all the poverty as it exists to-day, I pray to remain a worker always.—Yours, etc., SOCIAL SECURITY. September 5, 1951.
