Flying-Boat Delayed.—Tasman Empire Airways’ fifth Solent flying-boat,. Aparima. which is on a delivery flight from Britain, has been held up at San Francisco by bad weather in the Pacific, and is not expected at Auckland till Thursday.—(P.A.)
Drunken Driver Fined.—A male nurse who was found intoxicated in charge of a car on Saturday night. Frank Frederick Boot, aged 37, was fined £3O and had his licence suspended until June 30, 1952, by Mr M. B. Scully S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Lower Hutt yesterday. On a charge of failing to stop after an accident Boot was fined £2O. He pleaded guilty to both charges.—(PA..) Fire in Fence.—About 6ft of a 60ft paling fence was destroyed in a fire at 42 Helmores road, the property of Mr Geoffrey Hamilton, yesterday. The Central Fire Brigade received the call at 3.38 pan. (
