TRADE RELATIONS IN ASIA

N-Z. ASKED TO ATTEND CONFERENCE

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 10. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr J. T. Watts) announced to-day that New Zealand had been invited to attend a conference to be held at Singapore from October 8 to October 18 sponsored by the Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East. Twenty-six countries had been invited. The purpose of the conference would be the promotion of better trade ‘relations in Asia. Mr Watts said that consideration was being given to representation at the conference by one of the Government Trade Commissioner’s staff.
