DRAMA LEAGUE’S FESTIVAL

UNITY THEATRE GROUP WINS FINAL (New Zealand Preet Association) • NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 3. A play written, produced, and acted by New Zealanders, won the final of the New Zealand branch of the British Drama League’s annual festival of community drama at Hawera to-night. The play was “The Trap,” and it was presented bv the Wellington Area of the Unity Theatre. The author war, Miss Kathleen Ross, and the producer Miss Nola Miller. The judge was Mr E. Martin Browne, director of the British Drama League, London, who praised the standard; of production, the quality of the play itself, and the individual performances of the cast of women. The two other plays in the final were presented by the Titirangi Women’s Intitule and the South Canterbury Area Post Office Drama Group.
