Mutual Ban On Diplomats
(Jtec. 9 p.m ) LONDON, June 6. Jugoilavia and Hungary yesterday banned each other’s diplomatic reprejentatives from their capitals for the time being. Hungary ordered a Jugoslav diplomatic representative to leave Budapest ind Jugoslavia told Hungary that she did not want the Hungarian Charge d'Affeires back in Belgrade. Hungary claimed that Jugoslavia failed to explain an assault on the Hungarian Charge d’Affaires in Belpade in March and strongly objected to Jugoslavia’s efforts to "obscure the real state of affairs in connexion with the assault." Jugoilavia said that Hungary's repjesentative had provoked a street brawl in Belgrade and should not return to his job. but Jugoslavia added the Government was ready to grant a visa to a new Hungarian Charge d’Affaires and would also demand a visa for a new Jugoslav Charge d’Affaires in Budapest. U.S. FOOD LOAN FORJNDIA COMPROMISE VERSION APPROVED (Hee. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, June 5. A feint committee of the Senate and fee House of Representatives to-night iwroved a compromise version of the bill which the two Chambers had pawed to lend India 190,000,000 dollars to buy 2,000,000 tons of wheat and other foods from the United States. The committee struck out the provision of the Senate bill which would have required India to make part repsyment with monazite, an atomic energy material. The Indian Government in 1946 banned the export of monazite. Ibe Committee adopted the language If the House bill, which instructs American officials to negotiate with Ma for strategic materials, but not « an arbitrary basis. Th* measure now will go back to the Sttite and the House for final approval.
