SELECTOR’S ABSENCE FROM MATCH
EXPLANATION ACCEPTED BY COUNCIL (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 6. The council of the New Zealand Football Association last night discussed the failure of one of the national selectors, Mr J. Houston, to travel south on Monday for the Otago-Canterbury match at Christchurch. After accepting Mr Houston's explanation that the bus from his home at Taita was 15 minutes late in departing last Monday morning, causing him to miss the connexion with the airways bus, the council decided to advise the Otago and Canterbury associations of the reason for Mr Houston’s failure to make the trip.
