Iron Trail, never off the bit, ran his last three furlongs of a round in 43sec He will be in great order for Saturday. Leeston was keen to increase speed when he ran home from the turn in 42sec. Miss Sunshine revelled in the conditions when she dashed over two furlongs in 25 2-ssec. Tailor Made and Night Letter could have improved on their 26sec. Red Victory also took 26sec for his last two furlongs, the going seeming to be unsettling. Valley Gold and Cardross are expected from Rjccarton to-day. Master Mishna (McLaren) and Leeston (Barr) shaped well when schooled over two hurdles. Riding engagements for the first day include:— L. French: Flying Control, Lucky May (Hope Handicap); C. T.
