Thomas, managing-director of the Huia Trading Company, will fly to England and the Continent next week to look for a new vessel to replace the schooner Huia, which was lost on a reef in the Pacific early this year. The new vessel will probably be a refrigerated Diesel vessel of 400 to 500 tons. She will probably be used for Pacific trading. The Huia, formerly the Nobel Explosives Company trans-Tasman vessel, was on her way from Auckland to the New Hebrides in January when she struck a reef 40 miles from Noumea.
