AWARDS FOR TOURNAMENT PERFORMANCES (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 28. Awards of New Zealand University blues for outstanding performances during the Easter tournament in Auckland were announced at the tournament ball at Auckland University College last night. The following abbreviations denote the colleges:—Auckland University College (A.), Victoria University College <V.). Canterbury University College (C.), University of Otago (O.). The awards are:— Rowing.—P. Harpham (A.), I. Mercer fA.I, R. Tonkin (A.), D. Bodley (A.), K. Newbury (C.), I. Vodanovlc (V.), R. Anderson <A.). The cox’s cap was awarded to M. Skerman, of Otago. Swimming.—B. Adams (A.), D. Dowse (V.), Miss K. Jacobi (A.), T. Logan (O.). Miss B. Moore (0.1. Lawn Tennis.—Miss E. Becroft (A.). Athletics.—J. H. Borland (O.), G. M. Jeffries (0.1. C. M. Kay (A,), R. McKenzie (0.1, W. Muirhead (0.1, J. G. Myles [A.I, K. North (O.), R. S. Matanitobua (C.), Miss F. Spence (A.). The A. V. Hill challenge cup was awarded to Miss P. Douglas (A.). Boxing.—F. Davis (A.), C. J. O'Sullivan (A.). The award to the most scientific boxer in the tournament was made to O'Sullivan. Basketball.—F. Allen (0.1. S. McAnenev (A.), N. Nicholls (0.1, T. Riordan (A.), F. Spence (A.). Shooting.—D. V. Henderson (V.), A. T. S. Howarth (V.). I. R. Larsen (A.), J. Pedlow (O.). Two additional awards in respect of the Winter sports tournament of 1930 were announced These were both for ski-ing and were made to M. Laird, of Auckland, and M. Wolfhagen, of Canterbury. Only one award of a New Zealand University cricket blue has been made as the result of matches In the University Easter tournament. This has been made to D. McLeod, of Canterbury University Cob lege. McLeod captained the New Zealand University team, which was defeated by Auckland to-day. He made an excellent impression with his wicket-keeping and batting. The award was announced tonight by the Blues Committee of the tournament.
