SEATS TO BE DECIDED
The United States mid-term eleition.- this year involve contests for 432 of the 435 members of the House of Representatives, and for 36 members of the Senate (which has a total strength of 96). Three members of the House of Representatives ail from the State of Maine, faced their own elections in September last.
Beore this election the Democrats had a Senate majority of 12. In the House the Democrat majority was 89.
