TRAP SHOOTING
CAMPION CUP WON BY BELFAST
A strong easterly cross wind made shooting conditions tricky when the North Canterbury Gun Club contested the Campion* Cup match with Belfast recently. The attendance was small. The match was even throughout, Belfast finally winning with 122 points to North Canterbury’s 117.
The first contest, a five-target eyeopener, with 25 entries, was divided by Messrs D. W. Davison, J. Manson, C. D. Bailey, M. Anderson, N. Inwood, R. T. Whitham. L. W. Kerr, and F. T. Vallance. all with possibles.
The second match, the Campion Cup. of 15 targets, drew 24 entries, and resulted in S. R. Marston taking first prize in the optional sweep, with the only possible. Messrs D. W. Davison, J. Inwood, L. W. Kerr, and H. C. Rowsell, each with one down, divided second and third prizes
A 10-target sweepstake, with 24 entries, comprised the third match. Messrs M. Anderson, J. Inwood, L. W. Kerr, and D. Mason scored possibles and divided ihe prize money.
The fourth match, a 10-target gimcrack. drew 21 entries. Messrs M. D. Bailey, F - . Ridden, N. Inwood. I. G. Watkins, B. H. Sluis, S. R. Marston, and F. T. Vallance each scored nine breaks, and divided the prize-money.
The prize-money in the concluding match, a 10-target sweepstake, which drew 16 entries was divided by Messrs D.'W. Davison. C. D. Bailey. M. D. Bailey. I. T Watkins, and S. R. Marston wljo all recorded possibles.
