WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS
Darfleld.—Arrangements to hold a Christmas party for the pre -school children of members were made at the monthly meeting of the Darfleld branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. The senior vice-president (Mrs F. Cridge), who presided, gave an interesting reading on Africa. Suitable ideas for a float to be entered in the district centennial processioh were discussed. Competitions for the month resulted as follows;—telephone cover, Mrs Cridge 1. Mrs A. Stott 2, Mrs A Bringans 3; meringues. Miss J. Gillanders 1, Mrs J. Skerrington 2. Mrs L. Rutledge 3; large bloom, Mrs Stott 1, Mrs M. Houston 2, Mrs C. Loe 3; small bloom. Mrs Loe 1, Mrs J. Gunn 2, Mrs Rutledge 3. Port Levy.—Arrangements for the flower show to be held towards the end of the month were made at the November meeting of the Port Levy oranch of the Women’s Division <of Federated Farmers. The president (Mrs O. Williams), who presided, displayed the peggy square qui-t which she made from «even squares for the branch’s sponsored Greek girl. A competition arranged for the afternoon was won by Mesdames I. Field and W. S. Coop (equal). Monthly competitions resulted as follows: large bloom, Mrs Coop 1, Mrs Steele 2; small bloom, Mrs Williams 1, Mrs Griffiths 2; vase of flowers. M.s Williams 1, Mrs Helps 2; summer dessert. Mrs Helps 1, Mrs Jenkins 2; monthly cup Mrs Williams. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Williams and Coop.
