SECOND ROUND ENDED “The second round of the Suburban Cricket Association’s competitions was concluded on Saturday, when a keen easterly made conditions unpleasant. Waltham gained an outright win over New Brighton by -over an innings, but Sumner was held to a first innings win over Harewood. At Sydenham Park Beckenham batted all the afternoon to make 142 for the loss of six wickets, and the match against Matchless was drawn.

Following are the points gained by the senior teams:—Sumner 10, Waltham 9, Beckenham 8, Matchless 8, Harewood 2, New Brighton 1. Results:—

Sumner 173 and 32 for seven wickets beat Harewood 98 by 75 runs on the first mnings. For Sumnei J. Smifh took four fo [_2l and J. D. Smith three for 11. Matchless 272 drew with Beckenham 142 for six wickets (Griffiths 32 xnot out, Weatherhead 26, Brownlees 26). W.M.C. 118 beat Watersiders 116 (Young 46 not out) by 2 runs. For W.M.C. Beere took five for 26. Wigram 263 for seven wickets declared (Lawson 80, Watson 59 not out) beat Spreydon 95 and 64 (Hall 25) by an innings and 104 runs. .For Wigram Brett took five for 10, including the hat-trick, and Dalzell three for 10. JUNIOR A GRADE Shipping 278 for four wickets declared beat Beckenham 60 and 120 (Turner 47, Tolchard 29 not out) by an innings and 98 runs. For Shipping Dale took six for 28 and six for 24 and Porteous three for 21 and two for 25. Shirley 158 and 151 for two wickets declared (Coleman 80, Wentworth 66) beat Waltham 126 and 53 for four wickets by 32 runs on the first innings. For Shirley Coleman took three for 29. Albion 98 and 100 for two wickets (Johnston 39 not out, Edginton 28) beat Tramways 145 and 51 by eight wickets. For Albion Johnston took five for 29 and Edginton four for 17. JUNIOR B GRADE Manchester 107 and 58 beat Matchless 64 and 28 by 73 runs. For Manchester Saunders took nine for 17 and five for 7, and for Matchless Hall took six for 14.
