NO WORK DONE AT AUCKLAND

MEN HEAR REPORTS ON DISPUTE

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 18. Auckland waterside workers returned to their homes this morning after attending a meeting to hear reports from the national and local executives of their union. They will attend another meeting at 9 o’clock tomorrow morning. To-day they decided to discuss with the Waterfront Industry Authority, the wage claims of local ships’ carpenters who are members of the union and are receiving carpenters’ wage of 3s lid an hour, which compares unfavourably with the pay of other members.
