NO WORK DONE AT GREYMOUTH
From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH, Sept. 18. There was no response to a call for waterfront labour at Greymouth this morning. The waters’ders held a special meeting at which the history of the present dispute was outlined. The executive’s action in calling a halt to the work was endorsed. Members of the crews of two ships tied up in the port (the Konui and the Piri) were present at the meeting by invitation. The mines are pot yet affected. The Wallsend State coal mine was idle today after a long stop-work meeting.
