TIMARU WATERSIDERS LOAD POTATOES

From Our Own Reporter TIMARU, September 18. Timaru waterside workers decided at a stop-work meeting this morning that only the Stonegate, loading potatoes for Australia, would be worked, and four gangs were allotted. The Stonegate, which has been loading for a fortnight, has already taken in 30,000 bags of potatoes but there are still 20.000 bags to be loaded. Other vessels in port at present are the 13,750-ton Runic, which has almost completed loading a large cargo of frozen meat and wool for the United Kingdom, the Kairanga, and the Korowai. The Timaru stationmaster (Mr W. C. Tritt) said to-day that the potatoes for the Stonegate were comihg in for shipment at the rate of 120 waggons a day.
