ANTI-SEMITIC TEACHING
Sir, —As one who has studied British Israel teaching before accepting it, may I deny the inference made by Dr. Duff Forbes that it is in any way antiSemitic. Rather, it teaches that the true sons of Judah are our own brethren. As a world-wide federation no other Christian body more sincerely uses the collect for Easter Friday as contained in the English Prayer Book. “Have mercy on all Jews, Turks, and infidels . . . and so fetch them home, blessed Lord, to thy flock . . .” Dr. Duff Forbes ignores a vital factor, that Israel cannot be permanently reinstated in Palestine until, with repentance, she accepts her true Messiah as Redeemer, Saviour, and King. Twice before in history he Jews have attempted to re-establish themselves in the Holy Land, and with what tragic consequences. Current events indicate that history may repeat itself, with perhaps more drastic results.—Yours, etc., September 18, 1950.
