“ THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD ”
Sir,—Could you or any of your readers supply me with some information about Hob'an Hunt’s masterpiece, “The Light of the World”? I am positive that I saw it in the ola Art Gallery some 25 years ago, whereas I am told on supposedly good authority that this wonderful masterpiece has been shown only once in Christchurch, at the Exhibition of 1900. I would like to settle the argument.—Yours, etc., M.T. September 18, 1950.
