ANNUAL SCHOOLBOYS’ CHAMPIONSHIPS
Christchurch West High School won the Canterbury Wrestling Association’s annual schoolboy amateur championships for the A. P. Craig Shield last evening. Tne school was successful in five of the seven weights, the others going to Christchurch East and Wharenui. Although entries were lighter than in the last few years, there were some extremely close and interesting contests. In the results which follow, the abbreviations used are: —E., Christchurch East; W., Christchurch West High School; Wh., Wharenui; H., Harewood; T., Technical: Wa., Waltham. Results were:—4st to sst: Tom Donovan (Wh.) beat R. McLachlan (E.). sst to 6st: B. Halligan (E.) beat R. Simpson (E.). 6st to 7st: Trevor Donovan (W.) beat L. Allison (E.). 7st to Bst: G. Tall beat R. Hamburger (Wa.); B. Roberts (W.) beat D. Walker (E.); Tall beat Walker; Roberts beat Hamburger: Roberts beat Tall. Roberts, with no bad points, was the winner. Bst to 9st: J. Oakes (W.) beat K. Bartrum (W.); • Bartrum beat D. Gardner (Wh.); Oakes beat Gardner; Oakes, with no bad points, was the winner. lOst to list: B. Hadcroft (W.) beat M. McNarn (W ); D. L.
