CATTLE ON BEALEY AVENUE
Sir, —Just a few lines to draw- attention to the disturbing state of affairs on Wednesday afternoon at a busy time just on 5 p.m., when traffic is going at a geat rate in all directions. At that time a procession of cattle from the Addington Saleyards came along Bealey avenue. It is most confusing and worrying for the cattle, and for the boys in charge, especially when the animals insist on turning and going in another direction, and are terribly hard to manage. They were bewildered with so much traffic passing. Two or three of them were tramping on the garden in the middle of the road, and eating the plants. The boys seemd too young to know what to do. It was very terrifying to passing pedestrians who happened to be near. Cannot something be done about it? — Yours, etc., FRIGHTENED. September 14, 1950.
