EARTHQUAKES IN ITALY
TREMORS CONTINUE FOR 11 HOURS
(Rec. 8 p.m.) ROME, September 5. More than 20 earth tremors shook central Italy this morning, injuring at least nine persons and bringing down a number of houses. The tremors began just before midnight and continued for 11 hours, although in minor intensity. The shocks were felt from the Adriatic to the Tyrrhenian coast and from Florence to Rome with the epicentre 53 miles north-east of Rome.
Dental Nurses From Ceylon.— The Ceylon Government will send six nurses for dental training in New Zealand. ’ After a two-year course the nurses will help to establish a Government training school for nurses in Colombo so that ultimately a dental service can be set up m Ceylon along the lines of that in New Zea-land?-Colombo, September 5.
