WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS
Okuku.— A talk ‘on the recent conference was given by Mrs E. Ensor, who presided at the August meeting of tae Okuku branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Fanners. Mrs R. Ensor’s cup for the membe. gaining most po*nts in the year’s competitions was awarded to Mrs H. Wood. Other prizes were won by Mrs J. O’Halloian, Mrs H. Wood. Mrs Crampton, and Miss Dodge. A Birthday cake made and decorated by Mrs H. Ensor marked the thirteenth birthday of the branch. The cake was cut by Mrs J. O’Hailoran, senior vice-presidenr. The sum of £8 was given to the community chest and £5 to tire building fund. The competitions for the afternoon resulted:— large bloom: Mrs H. Wood 1 and 3, Mrs J. H. Ensor 2. Small bloom: Mrs Haro.d Ensor 1. Mrs Wood 2, Mrs O’Halloran 3 Sand saucer: Mrs E. Ensor 1, Mrs Harold Ensor 2. Mrs J. H. Ensor 3. Knitted article from wool oddments: Mrs Crampton Leeks: Mrs Crampton. The' hostesses weie Mesdames G. Croit, Wood, and J H. Ensor.
*. SPpydon.—The first birthday party of the Spreydon branch of the Womens Division of the Federated Farmers was held recently. It.ms were presented by members or Mrs Cooper’s concert party who included Miss Gi.ian M.Kendry, M sdames Horne, Williams, Powell, Shaw, and Cooper. Accompaniments were played by Mr Storey. Prizes for the year were ptes. nted as follows:—large bioom: Mrs Hulston 1, Mis Wiikins 2. Small b oom: Mrs Wornall 1, Mis Hulston aid Mrs Wor.idll (equal) 2. Cluster: Mrs Hulston 1, Mrs Huiston and Mrs Wornall (equal) 2. Otner competitions: Mrs Wornall 1, Mrs Woods 2 Most points: Mrs Wornall.
Pigeon Bay.—Two new members weie welcomed by Mrs R. Hunt, who presided at the August meeting <x the Pigeon Bay branch of the Women's DivisL . of federated Farmers. Mis Hu..t, who reported on the provincial executive meeting, said that Mrs I. L. M. Coo ' would visit trie branch soon. An account of her trip through Australia was given by Miss Al - son McKay, and a humo.ous reading w-s given by Mrs A. Cu-din. To raise ru.ids for overseas parcels a card evening wl.« arranged. Christchurch.—A talk on her work at schools m Britain for maladjusted children was given by Mrs J. Morrison at the monthly meeting of the Christchurch branch or the Women’s Division of FedeFat ® d Farmers. Mrs A. E. G. Lyttle presided. It was decided to plant a tree to commemorate the centennial of Canterbury. Competition winners, were as follows:—large bloom: Mrs Foley 1, Mrs Denham and Mrs Foley (equal) 2. Small bloom: Mrs Mason 1, Mrs Denham 2. Cluster: Mrs Denham 1, Mrs Foley 2. Brooklands.—Miss J. Smith, a member of the North Canterbury Provincial Executive, was guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Brooklands branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. It was decided to send £2 2s to the community chest. - Results of competitions were as follows:—cellophone hat: Mrs Scott 1, Mesdames Y. Kaan and G. Simmons (eoual) 2. Cooking: Mrs B. Kaan 1.
