U.N. ACTION IN KOREA
PEACE UNION’S OPPOSITION “The Peace Union, consisting of members resolved to oppose all war, deplores the manner in which the United Nations and its member nations have come to* accept a solution of the Korean dispute by armed force,” says a resolution passed by the • union at a recent meeting. The resolution continues: “Believing that it is the wish of people everywhere that everv occasion of war should be neutralised by willingness to submit to arbitration, the Peace Union urges the Government of New Zealand to make representations at. once for an independent committee of arbitration to be set up, first to call for an immediate cessation of hostilities. and second to negotiate a permanent settlement of the Korean partition problem. To further this proposal it suggests that the good offices of the governments of the republic of India and the republic of Jugoslavia be solicited for the taking of the initial steps.” The resolution, has been sent to the Prime (Mr Holland).,
