WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
Loburn.—Mrs H. Saxton presided at the monthly meeting of the Loburn Women's Institute. Regret was expressed at the resignation of the secretary (Mrs C. H. Croft) and Miss B. Metherell was elected to take her place. The report on the recent conference held in Christchurch was read by the delegate. Mrs Saxton. Miss B. Metherell was elected to attend as delegate at the half-yearly meeting at Ohoka in October. Competitions resulted as follows:—large bloom: Mrs Bennett 1. Mrs Anderson 2, Mrs Sampson 3. Small bloom: Mrs Anderson 1, Mrs Metherell 2, Mrs Sampson 3. Posf bowl: Mrs Sampson 1, Mrs Findlay 2, Mrs Anderson 3. Bottled tomatoes: Mrs Anderson 1. Domett.—An interesting report on the Dominion conference was given by Mrs F. Wilkinson at the monthly meeting of the Domett Women’s Institute, which was held at the residence of Mrs T. Langley. Competition winners were:—knitted article: Mrs H. Denton 1, Mrs T. Langley 2, Mrs F. Crosado 3. Shortbread: Mis F. Crosado 1. Large bloom: Mrs T. Langlev 1 and 2, Mrs Aitken 3. Small bloom: Mrs T.
