FRIDAY’S BIG SALE
OLD WORLD FURNITURE FURNITURE FROM CANTERBURY HOMESTEADS For a hundred years the old homesteads of the South Island have been remarkable for their magnificent furniture and furnishings. From England, Scotland and Ireland, from the Continent of Europe, early settlers brought or sent for Mahogany, Oak, Walnut, Rugs, decorated China from the worldfamous potteries of England and Europe, and other works of art. The charm of the home was improved by the age and quality of its furnishings. In recent years there have been many changes, among them being those which place treasures of the home, treasures otherwise unobtainable, under the hammer of the auctioneer. Furniture that cannot be replaced wood, figured, designed, carved, decorated and polished. Furniture of beauty, comfort, and furniture every piece of which is useful. The Auction Rooms of H. G. Livingstone, Ltd., have for many years been the scene of notable sales; to-day a catalogue is displayed that includes items of special interest to be sold by Public Auction on Friday Next. Advt
