DIAMOND WEDDING

MR AND MRS R. MOODIE Mr and Mrs Robert Mcodie. Main road. Rakaia. will celebrate their diamond wedding to-morrow. They were married at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. Ashburton. Mr Moodie arrived in New Zealand with his parents from Scotland in the s.s. Dunedin during 1874, and spent nine months in Christchurch. He then ’ 'ent to Rakaia. where he has lived ever since. Mrs Moodie came to New Zealand with her parents from England in July. 1874. and for several years lived at Waddington and Ashburton. Of their 10 children, eight are living, end there arc 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. One grandson lost his life in the Second World War. Mr and Mrs Moodie will celebrate their diamond wedding with a family gathering to-morrow.
