OLYMPIC CUP
AWARD TO NEW ZEALAND AND BELGIUM From Our Own Reporter WELLINGTON, June 2.’ The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) has been advised bv the president of the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association (Mr A. D. F.ayfeild) that he has received a cable from Dr. A. E. Porritt, chairman of the British Empire Games Federation in London, stating that the International Olympic Committee awarded the Olympic Cup of 1950 to the New Zealand Olympic and Empire Games Association, conjointly with the Belgian Olympic Committee. Mr Holland said he was sure that high honour in the world of Empire sport would be received with great appreciation throughout the Dominion. The cup is presented to the organisation which has done most during the year to advance the cause of Olympic sport.
