NEW VALUATIONS

HEATHCOTE AND WAIMAIRI COUNTIES

Capital rateable values of the Heathcote and Waimairi counties have increased by 56.3 per cent, and 53.9 per cent, in the new valuation rolls.

The Heathcote valuation is £3.254,845, against £2.032.350 in the 1935 roll. The new valuations for the riding, with the 1935 figures in parenthesis, are: Cashmere. £1.614.525 (£1.122.455): Bromlev. £423.655 (£235 505); Heathcote Valley. £383.780 (£212,945); Hllsborough. £386.045 (£24/.475); Avonside, £330.950 (£191.750); Mount Pleasant. £112.890 (£72.220).

The value in the Waimairi county has increased to £lO,lOB 515 from £6.568.368. The biggest rises are in the Avon and Wairarapa ridings, where house building has been heaviest. The percentage increases for th? ridings are: Styx 71, Marshland 73.76. Avon 88.4. Belfast 49.9. Harewood 60.47, Papanui 53. Wairarapa 75, Fendalton 38.8. Middleton 50.35.
