Non-Roman Catholic Churches in New Zealand came eighth in the world in terms of the amount given in 1949 for relief of churches in Europe, according to a statement from the National Council of Churches. Eighty ! per cent, of all such giving came from I America, and other countries ahead of New Zealand were Switzerland. Norway, Canada. Holland, Britain, and Sweden. New Zealand’s gifts to European Churches in 1949 totalled more than £ 10,000 as well as 50 tons of clothing.
