NEW ZEALAND FINANCE

Sir, —Mr Nash is to be commended for his outspoken denunciation of Mr Holland’s irresponsible statements about the finances of New Zealand. Our Prime Minister is making a mockery of our democracy. His conduct of postponing Parliamentary debate and his altering the country’s legislation without a political airing, savours of European dictatorship, the very thing he professes to abhor. The man in the street is quite alive to his misleading statements, and is not deluded as he was with previous Tory governments.— Yours, etc., 1950 NOT 1850. May 30, 1950.
