WORLD TOURIST CONFERENCE
ATTENDANCE OF N.Z. DELEGATE (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON. May 29. New Zealand will - be represented for the first time at a general assembly of the Alliance International de, Tourisme, which meets in Paris from i May 31 to June? 2. Her representative will be Mr N. F. Little, president ol the Automobile As-1 socialion (Taranaki), and -the repre- 1 sentative during his stay in Britain of i North and South Island automobile associations. He will also act as proxy for Canada.
The Alliance International de Tourisme, more briefly known as “A.1.T.," is an international federation of automobile associations and cyclists and other touring organisations. It deals with road safety, traffic regulations. road direction and warning signs, touring maps and bulletins and international arrangement'; for customs. currency and passports. It also facilitates international touring. Mr Little, who arrived in England ' last June, says he was impressed by I the need for New Zealand unions to be represented at the assembly in view i of the large number of New Zealand members who in a visit to Britain also i take their cars to the Continent and to ■ Ireland.
