THE SALVATION ARMY
Sir, —Once again, when assistance is needed, the Salvation Army is there. 1 sec in your paper this morning that the Salvation Army arranged for accomI modation of the flood victims on Saturday. It also arranged for refreshments for the men on duty at the flood area. It provided refreshments for the men again yesterday. When assistance is wanted the Salvation Army is always there. How many of lhe churches do the work that the Salvation Army does? Looking back over the last 50 years. I can recall a lot of cases that the Salvation Army has assisted in Kaiapoi, but in which the churches have not interested themselves. I have never been connected with the Salvation Army, but admire it, and hope that when it makes its next appeal the Kaiapoi people will not fail to show it that its work is appreciated. —Yours, etc., KAIAPOI. Kaiapoi. May 29, 1950.
