MAGISTRATE’S COURT

(Before Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.) REMANDED On a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a motor-car in Papanui road on May 27, Cecil Joseph Fantham, aged 36, a hotel licensee, was remanded to appear on May 31. The remand was granted on the request of Mr W. F. Brown, who appeared for Fantham. Bail was allowed in the sum of £25 in the accused’s own recognisance. TRAFFIC OFFENCES On charges of parking without lights, brought by the traffic department of the Christchurch City Council, the following persons were convicted and ordered to pay costs (fines imposed on other charges in parenthesis) :—William John Coppersmith, James John Counsell, James Malcolm Cross (no warrant of fitness. 10s), James William Dodd, Leo Bernard Fleete, Spence John Harvey (no warrant of fitness, 10s), Bertram Owen Hopkins, Trevor Blackler Hughes, Hector Henry William Long (no warrant of fitness, 10s). Maurice Harold Marks, John Henry Campbell Molloy, Bernard Mark Mora. Douglas Percy Charles Phillips, Roger James Reid, Francis Neville Ryman. Rex Harold Ryman, John Amos David Suckling. Edwin Lloyd Thorne. Harold Hugh White (no driver’s licence, 10s), Edward Moreton Wildey.
