BRITISH AID TO WINNIPEG

SUPPLIES FOR FLOOD VICTIMS (Rec. 10 p.m.) OTTAWA, May 27. A stratocruiser carrying nine tons ol relief supplies from Britain for Winnipeg flood victims landed to-day at Winnipeg. The cargo is the first consignment of British relief supplies. A larger load will arrive next week. A large crowd of cheering Canadians greeted the airliner’s arrival. The flood threat to Winnipeg has subsided. The airliner’s arrival coincided with the beginning of the return of evacuees to their homes.
