Mr T. J. Ryan, who has been promoted from the position of stationmaster at Christchurch to stationmaster at Palmerston North, was bidden farewell at a staff function yesterday. Mr C. H. Perkins has been appointed by the Governor-General to fill the seat on the Canterbury Universit ■’ Council vacated by Mr A. O. Wilkinson.
