NO SHUT DOWN TO DAY IN HEATHCOTE
A request not to cut off electric power in the county's district this« afternoon was made on be haff of Cashmere residents, particularly sanatorium patients, by Mr R. A. Young, at a meeting of the Heathcote County Council last evening. It would appear that with the heavy rain in the alps the power situation would be considerably improved, said Mr Young. The patients, especially, were keen to I s to the Rugby test match from Dunedin. The District Engineer of the Stale Hydro-electric Department (Mr W. H. Gregory) was communicated with, and said that the department would have no objection if the council did not shut off its power to-day.
