The longest underwater traffic link in the United States, it is the second road tunnel under the East river. Two other road tunnels connect Manhattan with New Jersey. Manhattan’s motor traffic is also carried by several bridges. Ten million toll-paying vehicles are expected to use the Brooklyn Battery Tun-1 nel each year. |
